Frequently Asked Question
Failed to prepare Virtual HIL device (gcc: command not found)
Last Updated 4 years ago
It is possible for Windows environment variables to cause this type of problem. Try removing any references to GCC in both user and system variable paths. Before applying these changes make sure you back up the paths, so you can restore them in case this doesn’t help.
This kind of error can also be caused by Ubuntu running in Windows. In this case you need to uninstall Ubuntu in order to fix the problem. It can typically happen when "Windows Subsystem for Linux" is installed.
If the message says only "Failed to prepare Virtual HIL device" this could happen due to use of Virtual Machine software. We do not officially support our software through the use of VM.
