Frequently Asked Question

What is the maximum number of electrical variables between two cores, two cores in two different devices, two devices?
Last Updated 2 months ago

The maximum number of electrical variables between two cores in the same device is 4.

Number of variables that can be transferred with additional channels through Look Up Tables (LUTs) is equal to number of LUTs in device, divided by 2. These channels can be used by any 2 cores, after the standard 4 channels between them are fully utilized.

For example, a five-phase core coupling uses all 4 channels between 2 cores. If an additional single-phase core coupling is placed between the same 2 cores, it requires 1 extra channel. In this case, LUT unit will be used as additional channel. Therefore, LUT utilization can be increased by core coupling components.
If a device configuration has 8 available LUTs, it means there are total of 4 additional channels for variable exchange (on device level) - and any 2 cores can use them.

Between two devices:

The maximum number of electrical variables between two cores in two different devices is 8.

The maximum number of electrical variables between two devices is 16.
